In the first article, Julie answered the question about why, if someone believed they were getting a tax cut, their return is showing only a tiny refund or even an amount due.  She suggests that people check their withholding.

In the second article dealing with smaller refunds that anticipated, Julie was quoted about the complexities of whether to use the standard or itemized deductions when taking into consideration the state tax rules.  She suggests that it pays to run the calculation.
