Save the stamp and make your Federal tax payments electronically with IRS Direct Pay via the IRS’ website at https://www.irs.gov/Payments/Direct-Pay. This service is for individuals only and offers a free, secure electronic payment method through the IRS’ website. IRS Direct Pay requires the individual to provide information from a on previously filed return and answer questions aimed to authenticate the individual. Payments can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance and payments can be modified or cancelled until two business days before the payment date. Once made, a confirmation number is provided.
For taxpayers who pay estimates by mail (instead of electronically), please note: The IRS has permanently closed its Cincinnati lockbox address. Many estimated tax payments were previously sent there, but payments should no longer be mailed to Cincinnati. Many taxpayers may already have pre-addressed envelopes or filing instructions with the old Cincinnati address. Although the post office will forward these, to avoid complications, please use the new address below:
